ScaleAway ScaleX concentrate is an inhibited hydrogen chloride concentration with multiple corrosion inhibitors for ferrous and non-ferrous
metals.
ScaleAway ScaleX is fortified with detergent builders and surfactants to aid in cleaning the heat transfer equipment while descaling is
being undertaken.

Descaling Procedure
Flanges removed from compressor.
New flanges with 50mm hoses were fitted to circulate descaling agent through the compressor supply and water return pipes.
Drainage plugs were removed from the water jackets on the three cylinder heads and fitted with swage hose adaptors.
25mm hoses were connected to the cylinder heads for circulation of descaling chemicals through the water jackets of all six cylinder heads simultaneously.
300 litres of inhibited descaling agent ScaleAway ScaleX was added to the circulating pump’s tank.
ScaleAway ScaleX circulated through the compressor for a period of 12 hours @ 3.5 bar pressure.

After Descaling ScaleAway ScaleX pH 2.44 Time 24h00 – 20/03/2021
Duration 12 hours
ScaleAway ScaleX at a pH 2.44 was still active after descaling service was completed.
ScaleAway ScaleX is considered spent when pH 4.50 is reached.
Neutralization of ScaleAway ScaleX using ScaleAway pH-Buffer was undertaken until a pH 7.85 was reached.
Entire compressor was rinsed out with clean water.
Compressor flanges were re-fitted and isolation valves were opened.
No leaks throughout pipe reticulation were detected.
