A water management program is a proactive measure to maintain optimum working temperature and performance of production equiment. This ensures machine settings
are maintained which eliminates down-time on production and minimizes wear and tear on your equipment.
ScaleAway water management programs start with an assessment of the process, water chemistry, cooling requirements and metallurgy in your system, which allows us to determine
whether there is a tendency to corrode, scale, foul, or a combination of the three. Our water treatment chemicals used in various concentrations are effectively
used for the reduction of these issues in industrial cooling water systems.
Neglected pipe reticulation and unmaintained heat transfer equipment DOES increase the total cost of operational, maintenance and water treatment chemicals SUBSTANTIALLY!!!!
All the water reticulation components should be totally cleaned out prior to chemical treatment so that chemical treatment costs
can be correctly quantified. This also means water treatment chemicals won't have to contend with existing scale
buildup and contaminants in the pipework and heat transfer components in your production equipment.
Flanges removed from heat exchangers and compressors and new flanges with hoses are fitted to circulate descaling agent through the “dead-ends” of the pipe reticulation.
A pre-calculated quantity of descaling agent is added to the circulating pump’s tank. Then circulated through the pipe reticulation for a
period of 12-24 hours (Depending on amount of scale build-up).
Neutralization of ScaleAwayBIO using ScaleAway pH-Buffer is then undertaken until a pH 7.40 was reached.
Entire reticulation is then rinsed out with clean water.
Heat exchanger and compressor flanges are re-fitted and isolation valves opened.
Cooling towers are started to check for leaks – No leaks throughout pipe reticulation are detected.
As a plant or production manager you already know that water scale on any heat transfer surface reduces the
effectiveness of that heat transfer. This results in reduced equipment efficiency while increasing energy consumption,
increasing costs and even increasing plant downtime.

The retardation of heat transfer caused by limescale is the prime reason for the increase in energy, maintenance,
and operational cost.
Heat transfer efficiency is reduced by 30% with only 1mm of limescale build-up! The thicker the scaling the less efficient your heat transfer equipment is!!!

Preventative maintenance is so much more affordable than unplanned plant breakdowns and forced shutdowns, that it is hardly worth
taking the gamble and risking your production commitments to your customers that rely on your factory to manufacture
and deliver their commodities on their time schedule.
It makes good business sense to have built-in reliability for your clients, by having water management systems as part of an overall proactive
maintenance plan throughout your production facilities.
Consider this service a necessity to the well being and efficiency of your production.
